On July 11, Tom Marchese won $195,963 and his maiden World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet on the virtual felt in Event #17: $1,000 NLH 6-Max Online Championship.
The WSOP Online event was open to players located in Nevada and New Jersey, and a total of 1,170 entries created a prize pool of $1,053,000 paid out to the top 167 finishers.
Marchese made a deep run in Online Event #16 only a couple of days earlier but fell just short of the final table when he finished 13th out of 2,157 entrants. In the very next online bracelet event, the New Jersey native who goes by “looter” on the WSOP online platform went the distance and defeated "Limper123" in heads-up play to earn his first bracelet.
Marchese has over $19 million in total live tournament earnings including 34 WSOP cashes, but a piece of WSOP hardware had always eluded him. He previously came close to claiming a piece of the coveted jewelry in 2015 when he finished runner-up to Paul Michaelis in a $1,500 Pot-Limit Hold'em event.
This time around, Marchese went all the way and picked up the victory and a WSOP bracelet to add to his illustrious poker career.
