Welcome back to the final day of Event #6: $25,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold'em where the final five players are set to gather at the feature table in the Amazon Room of the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino. Tyler Cornell accumulated a massive chip lead at the end of Day 2 and will bring a stack of 7,455,000 chips with him.
Cornell was the man responsible for four of the last five eliminations on Day 2 which finally brought the field down to five players after 11 hours of play. Joining him at the final table will be Michael Liang (5,140,000), Jonathan Jaffe (3,650,000), Mustapha Kanit (2,630,000), and Adrian Mateos (2,180,000). Each player will begin the day with over 30 big blinds so there should be plenty of room for players to make their move.
Seat | Player | Country | Chip Count | Big Blinds |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Michael Liang | United States | 5,140,000 | 85 |
3 | Jonathan Jaffe | United States | 3,650,000 | 60 |
5 | Adrian Mateos | Spain | 2,180,000 | 36 |
6 | Mustapha Kanit | Italy | 2,630,000 | 43 |
7 | Tyler Cornell | United States | 7,455,000 | 124 |
Mateos is the only one of the remaining five players to have previously won a WSOP gold bracelet and he has done so on three separate occasions. Although he is the short stack, Mateos knows what it takes to come from behind so don't count him out yet.
There will be approximately 9:30 remaining in level 17 with the blinds at 30,000/60,000 and a big blind ante of 60,000. The levels will be 60 minutes in length with a 15-minute break after every two levels. The cards will go in the air at 4 p.m. local time and you can watch all of the action on a one-hour delay at PokerGO.
The PokerNews live reporting team will also be here to bring you all of the updates throughout the day until a winner is crowned.
