After six hours of play on Day 2, all the chips are in, and they ended up in the stack of Artur Martirosian. The Russian player came into the final table second in chips behind American Isaac Haxton, but he didn't have an easy time of it from there. He was near the bottom of the counts when play was five-handed, but played the short stack well and managed to build it back up for the win in the field of 1,114 entries.
Martirosian had a stellar Super High Roller Bowl performance in May of 2020, booking $1,795,395 including $405,000 for 2nd in Event #11, $234,605 for a win in Event #16, and a huge finish with $352,000 for 2nd in Event #26 and $114,400 for 3rd in Event #27. That gave him the most points across the series, narrowly beating out Viktor Blom.
The Russian pro is no stranger to big results on the live circuit either, booking $495,000 for second place in $51,000 No Limit Hold'em event at the 2020 partypoker MILLIONS Sochi in March of last year, just before the world locked down.

Event #4: Sunday High Rollers ME $1,050, $1M Gtd. got underway yesterday with five hours of late registration, and by the time dust cleared, 1,114 entries pushed the $1M guarantee to $1,114,000. Day 1 lasted 28 full levels, and by the time they bagged and tagged for the night, they were already well into the payouts.
The bubble burst with a couple levels left in Day 1, and things went quickly from there. By the time they closed the action for the day, there were just 81 players left in action as 44 players hit the rail in the money before the end of the first day of play.
Day 2 kicked off with a bang, and within the first half hour of play they lost 30 players. The rapid pace kept up, and just two hours after the start of play they were down to the final four tables.
It only took about three hours to play down to the final table, and that's when things slowed down. "Quilmes2020", the start of day chip leader, was still alive on the final table, but it was American Isaac Haxton who came to the final table with a huge chip lead. He took a huge pot on the final table bubble, busting "mucurinha" in 10th place after going runner-runner flush against pocket jacks.
Haxton's big stack wouldn't hold though. He flopped a set of eights against "Quilmes2020", but ended up losing to a running flush when play was eight handed. That left him very short, and he ended up finishing his run in seventh place for $31,856.
Martirosian came into the final table second in chips, but he didn't have an easy run of it. He gave a chunk of chips to the start of day leader, "Quilmes2020", five-handed after turning two pair before "Quilmes2020" rivered the Broadway straight for a huge chip swing. That left Martirosian nursing a short stack, but he managed to hold on until he doubled to get back into it four-handed against Pavel "EzzzGame" Plesuv, then doubled again to get the second biggest stack against eventual fourth place finisher "Beso agronov". He took the lead a few hands later when he busted the Israeli player in fourth.
From there, Martirosian held the lead. He eliminated Plesuv in third place, and went into the heads up phase nearly 3:1 in chips. He traded small pots with Brazilian Felipe "Ketzerfelipe" Ketzer for a few minutes before getting Ketzer into a race situation with ace-seven against the Brazilian's pocket threes. Martirosian missed the flop, but smashed the turn and river with an ace on each street, taking the game down with trip aces.
After a dozen small hands heads up, it all ended when Artur Martirosian raised to 2.8M and Felipe "Ketzerfelipe" Ketzer shoved for 26,482,612. Martirosian called it off.

It was a race spot with Martirosian holding over cards against the pair for Ketzer. Ketzer looked good for the double after the flop, but an ace on both the turn and the river sealed it for Martirosian.

Most of the damage was done in a hand where Pavel "EzzzGame" Plesuv got ace-ten in against the suited queen-jack of Felipe "Ketzerfelipe" Ketzer, but Ketzer turned a flush for a huge double. That left Plesuv very short, and he busted shortly to Artur Martirosian.
