Splashing the Pot
With the boad reading , Jareth East had moved all in on the river putting shorter stack Jakub Mroczek to the test. The Polish player had the chips in the pot spread so he could get a better count before tanking for some time.
Finally he made the call but threw several chips into the pot at the same time, causing some confusion. No-one was entirely sure how many chips Mroczek had thrown into the middle at this point and the floor had to be called. "I think it was three blue chips (5k) and one red chip (1k)," said Zachary Korik. The opinion of the players was that there had been three to five chips put into the middle with several blue involved.
The floorman and the dealer counted back the blinds, antes, initial raise preflop of 6,900 and a called check-raise of 14,000 on the turn before East's river shove. This left a total of 16,500 chips that hadn't been part of the pot, three blues, one red and one purple (500). The chips were added back to Mroczek's stack as the dealer counted down the total that East had to pay, 66,500. East was also forced to table his bluff hand of .
